About Chiropractic Grennan Chiropractic Clinics - Irving & Mesquite, Texas

The chiropractic approach to healthcare is holistic, meaning that it addresses your overall health.  Stress, accidents, poor posture and lack of sleep are a few influences that can cause your spine to fall out of its natural alignment leading to back or neck pain, headaches and other kinds of pain.  Spinal adjustments to correct misalignments are what make a doctor of chiropractic unique in comparison to any other type of healthcare professional.  An “adjustment” refers to the specific force chiropractors apply to vertebrae that have abnormal movement patterns or fail to function normally.  The ultimate goal of the adjustment is to restore the body to its natural state of optimum health.  Correcting misalignments results in increased range of motion, reduced muscle dysfunction, reduced nerve irritability, and reduced pain.

Most often, when joints in one area of the body are not functioning correctly, we may feel discomfort or pain in another part of the body due to compensation.  Because some joints are moving more or carrying more stress, it can soon lead to inflammation and pain.  Areas that are not moving enough can also have tightened muscles and joints that “lock up”.  Maintaining good mobility is necessary in order to be pain free and to slow down the degenerative process.  Routine chiropractic adjustments are very beneficial in maintaining your mobility.

A large majority of people have muscle tension and joints that do not move properly.  On many occasions, this problem is undetected by most people.  It may be due to your job that requires heavy lifting, twisting, standing and harsh work conditions.  Other positions require long hours of sitting, computer use, or repetitive movements that are no less stressful on our body.  As chiropractors, we are trained to locate these regions that, although may be functioning for you, are doing so incorrectly.
